How to read it#

Tile area is market capitalisation (net assets for a fund), so the map weights companies the way the market does — the top ten names really are that much of it. Sector bands group the tiles. Returns are price moves for 1D and total returns over longer windows.

FAQ#

How are the tiles sized?
By market capitalisation — or net assets for a fund, falling back to dollar volume where neither is known. Area is proportional, so the map shows what the market actually weights rather than treating every company as one square.
How are the colours chosen?
Returns colour directly: green up, red down, saturating around ±8%. Valuation metrics colour by RANK across the map instead — a P/E of 30 means nothing until you know what everything else trades at, and one 900× outlier would otherwise flatten every other tile to the same shade. The percentile metrics are the third case: those rank each stock against its OWN ten-year history, which answers a different question again.
Why can I pick a colour scheme?
Red/green is the convention and it is also the single most common form of colour blindness. Red/blue, purple/teal and greyscale carry the same information without relying on that pair. The choice rides in the URL, so a shared link keeps it.
