Methodology
The 50 highest dividend yields among US-listed large caps, each verified as actually paid from our own dividends table rather than taken from a vendor's forward estimate. A yield that exists only because the share price collapsed is still a real yield today, and often a warning, so the table carries the facts that tell the two apart: the annual dividend per share (the latest regular payment times the payments a year), the run of complete calendar years in which that payment rose (a plus sign means it reaches the start of our record, which begins in 1995 for many long-lived payers), its five-year growth rate, the payout ratio against filed net income, and the last ex-date. Special dividends and spin-off distributions are left out of all of them.
Performance columns are price returns: the change in the split-adjusted share price, the way quote screens report it, through the latest print during the session. Dividends are not reinvested. Fundamentals come from company filings via our EDGAR pipeline. Past performance does not predict future returns; this is not investment advice.

Dividend growth is the five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of the payment. Payout ratio is dividends paid over net income, both trailing twelve months from the company's SEC filings; it is blank where earnings are negative.
- Do the returns include the dividends?
- No — the performance columns (1D through 5Y) are price returns: the change in the share price, the way quote screens report it. The dividend yield column is the income on top, and a stock's total return is roughly the two together. That matters for a dividend stock, since a high yield can coexist with a losing total return when the share price falls faster than the payout.
- Is a higher dividend yield always better?
- A very high yield can signal a falling share price or an unsustainable payout rather than a bargain — check the payout's history and the company's earnings before treating yield as income. This list filters out data artifacts by verifying each yield against dividends actually paid over the past year.
