Dow Jones — companies, valuation & returns

Everything we measure about the Dow Jones Industrial Average, computed from public sources and updated daily (as of market close, Sep 4, 2026): 30 companies with their actual index weights, a trailing P/E of 26.6, a dividend yield of 1.56%, and Financials leading the sector mix at 28.4%. Membership and weights come from the tracking fund's SEC filings and are rolled forward by price — so every displayed weight is an estimate of today rather than the filed figure; earnings come from members' own filings via our EDGAR pipeline. Members are the 30 companies in the Dow Jones Industrial Average, chosen by committee (not by size) and price-weighted, so the highest-priced shares move the index most. Membership and weights are derived from the tracking fund's SEC Form N-PORT filings and rolled forward daily by price. Fundamentals come from our SEC EDGAR pipeline. See each page's methodology for details.

Companies, not tickers. Dow counts 30 companies, but a few of them list more than one share class in the index — Alphabet's GOOGL and GOOG, for example. The fund files those as separate rows; we combine a company's classes into a single row and add their weights, so Alphabet appears once at its full index weight rather than twice at half of it. That is why this page says 30 and a list of index tickers elsewhere may run slightly longer.
